The Salt Pans of Cervia
A city vibrant 365 days a year, thanks to its stunning landscapes that make it truly captivating. Chief among them is a natural reserve, home to hundreds of pink flamingos: the Saline di Cervia (Cervia Salt Pans Reserve), located at the southern gateway to the Parco Regionale del Delta del Po (Po Delta Regional Park)..
A unique and evocative setting, which is a yearly destination for visitors, photographers, excursionists, bicycle lovers and birdwatchers.
The salt pan is a natural oasis covering an impressive 827 hectares and is home to over 100 different bird species. It is also the site where more than 20,000 tons of "sweet salt" are processed.
It's wonderful to lose yourself in this marvel, admiring the colors of the sunset reflecting in the surrounding landscape. As Victor Hugo once said, “There is a peaceful hour in the day that could be described as the absence of noise.” This is the serene hour of sunset.
